Physical Therapy encompasses a wide scope of treatment and specialties that may not often be realized. For instance, here at the Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, we have many therapists who specialize in areas such as:

  • Neuro rehab- addresses neurological as well as functional impairments resulting from conditions such as a stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, movement disorders, vestibular disorders and concussions.
  • Pelvic floor dysfunctions- addresses various problems resulting from muscular weakness or imbalance surrounding the pelvic floor. Conditions such as urinary incontinence, bowel dysfunction and constant or intermittent pelvic pain
  • Lymphedema- addresses chronic swelling as a result of damage or deficiency to the lymphatic system caused by trauma, infection, obesity, genetic malformations and chronic venous insufficiency.
  • Orthopedics- addresses post-operative care from surgical procedures such as a hip or knee replacement, rotator cuff repair etc. Sport related injuries, deconditioning, muscular weakness, poor mobility and many more.
  • Craniofacial pain and Temporomandibular joint dysfunctions- addresses conditions and symptoms affecting the jaw such as arthritis, jaw dislocations or ligament laxity, muscle spasms and weakness etc. Craniofacial treatment addresses conditions such as Bell’s palsy, post-herpetic neuropathy and many more.

These are just a few of the specialties within the physical therapy profession. Please reach out to the Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Center located at the Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center with any further questions you may have.
