Lakewood, NJ Ben Heinemann, CEO of BP Print Group and a Lakewood community leader, has provided a generous donation to the Geriatric Emergency Medicine (GEM) Unit at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC).

Through his donation, Mr. Heinemann is sponsoring one of eight specialized treatment rooms within the GEM Unit. As part of the James and Sharon Maida Geriatrics Institute, the GEM Unit provides compassionate and efficient medical care that is tailored to meet the unique health care needs of older adults. In addition to staff specially trained in the care of elders, a dedicated pharmacist and board-certified geriatricians, the GEM Unit offers more easily accessible beds, built-in fall prevention, non-skid flooring and adjustable lighting.

Mr. Heinemann, who has served on the MMCSC Foundation Board of Trustees since 2013, believes that the hospital is always there for the community and that this support needs to go both ways. “Lakewood has a large senior community, especially among the Orthodox population, so outstanding geriatric care is of the utmost importance.” said Mr. Heinemann. “I appreciate that the hospital is constantly working with the entire community to make sure everyone feels at home and that needs are met while being culturally sensitive.”

“We are grateful to Mr. Heinemann for his generous support and so thankful that the community recognizes the hard work and dedication of our Healthcare Heroes at MMCSC,” said Eric Carney, President and CEO of MMCSC and Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. “Providing the best care possible to all of our patients is always our main focus and this gift helps us do that.”
