Weekly World Wins Gold Aster Award!
The employee newsletter of Trinitas Regional Medical Center recently won the 2021 Gold Aster Award for excellence in advertising and marketing in the category of Newsletter/Internal-Series, Hospital 300-499 beds.
Weekly World, the employee newsletter, has been designed and written by Yolanda Fleming, Manager/Marketing Communications, since January, 2018. Before joining Trinitas, Fleming had been a reporter/theater columnist for the Asbury Park Press for 11 years, the author of two books and contributing editor of various New Jersey-based magazines, including Edge Magazine, published by Trinitas.
The Aster Awards is one of the largest and most respected national/international competitions of its kind. The 2021 Aster Awards received entries from across the entire United States as well as abroad. The program has recognized outstanding health care professionals for excellence in their advertising & marketing efforts for more than 20 years. All entries are reviewed by a panel of industry experts and are scored on multiple criteria with a possibility of 100 percent. Participant’s entries compete against similar-sized organizations in their specific groups and categories.
“We are always delighted by the response of appreciative personal notes from employees after the Weekly World goes out,” said Glenn Nacion, Vice President/Human Resources.
“They not only appreciate reading about the important information related to the organization, but Yolanda’s columns about Trinitas culture, current events and personal stories really resonate with them. There’s also the undercurrent of her sense of humor that makes employees look forward to reading it. We love the fact that it’s been nationally recognized.”
All awards were issued for entries that received top marks from judges placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal and execution.
“During these unprecedented times of COVID, this year’s competition was one of the most creative to date,” said Melinda Lucas, Aster Awards Program Coordinator.
