Nov 13, 2020 New Visitor Restrictions Begin Nov. 17

Due to a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in our community, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset has issued new visitor restrictions for the safety of patients, visitors and staff. Effective Tuesday, Nov. 17, no visitors will be allowed in the hospital’s Emergency Department or adult inpatient units. The hospital offers iPads for patients’ use and staff will help facilitate virtual visits through voice and video apps such as Google Duo, FaceTime and Skype.

The following visitor guidelines remain in place:

  • One significant other/support person is permitted in the Maternity and Labor & Delivery units.
  • Same day surgery or procedure patients, except for pediatrics, and patients with an intellectual, developmental or other cognitive disability, may have one support person accompany them prior to and after the procedure.
  • Outpatients may be accompanied by one adult.

Everyone entering the hospital must undergo a screening, including a temperature check. Facemasks must be worn at all times while in the hospital.
