Aug 21, 2020 Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Has Launched a “Pay It Forward” Campaign

MMCSC Pay it Forward

Yvonne Redline, MMCSC Foundation, presents a ‘Heroes Eat Here’ certificate to Courtney Berlin and Hanna Fernandez of Wallachs Farm Market & Deli, Toms River, in recognition of their support to our Healthcare Heroes.

Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, has launched a “Pay It Forward” campaign to give back to the community for its support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hospital employees are encouraged to support the local restaurants who supported them over the past several months. Employees will present “Heroes Eat Here” thank you cards at the restaurants they patronize for take-out or outdoor dining.

Beginning later this month, the hospital will also hold “Pay It Forward” Fridays. Employees will order take-out meals from a designated restaurant each week for delivery to the hospital. In addition, the hospital has presented the restaurants with a “Heroes Eat Here” certificate to display in public recognition of their support.

Since March, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus has received more than $77,000, in food donations from our community. Many restaurants donated meals on their own for hospital staff. Others were contacted by supporters of MMCSC to purchase meals to send to the hospital.

“Community support during this pandemic has been greatly appreciated by our teams,” explains Frank J. Vozos, Chief Executive of Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus and Executive Vice President, RWJBarnabas Health. “To quote Cesar Chaves, ‘the people who give you their food, give you their heart.’ and the numerous donations from local vendors captured the hearts of our healthcare heroes.”

MMCSC wants to return that support to our community, particularly our local restaurants, who have also been challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic. Our ‘Pay It Forward’ campaign is a small way that we can give back and show our appreciation for all that our community has done for us.

As a high reliability organization, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus reminds you that safety is an all-encompassing effort. If you need medical care, we urge you not to delay treatment. The hospital is safe and we are prepared for your visit.
