NEWARK, NJ ( May 5, 2018) On Saturday, May 5 Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey hosted its 6th Annual Women’s Health Day with The Beth at the Newark Airport Marriott Hotel.

More than 450 women attended the event which included a panel discussion on health and wellness issues moderated by special guest host, News 12 NJ Morning News anchor Carissa Lawson. She guided attendees through a discussion on total wellness and what it means to live a truly healthy lifestyle for women and their families.

The panel of experts included physicians from Newark Beth Israel Medical center as well as social service agencies and financial planning experts. They discussed a range of women’s health issues including, reproductive health, weight loss, financial health, behavioral health and family health and wellness issues.

Attendees received free health screenings, healing massage treatments, participated in fitness demonstrations, received door prizes, and more.

This year’s Women’s Health Day event was supported by a generous gift from the Jane D’Onfrio Family Foundation. The Foundation donated $30,000 to help further the mission of Women’s Health Day, which is to empower women to better health. The foundation was formed in honor of the late Jane D’Onfrio, who was a trailblazing female executive in New Jersey who believed in empowering women.

“Every year, more women attend our Women’s Health Day with The Beth event and we are able to provide more women with the education and the knowledge that they need to live healthier lives and improve the health of their families,” said Marilyn M. Harris Vice President, Community Relations.
