Clara Maass Medical Center paid tribute on May 15th to its employees that have achieved a milestone of service to Clara Maass Medical Center in increments of five years. This year, a total of 251 employees were honored with a combined total of 3,750 years of service. The elegant affair was held at Belleville’s Nanina’s In The Park, which included a sumptuous buffet dinner, dancing, a photo booth and a presentation a lapel pin for each honoree to denote the years of employment.
The program highlighted one 50-year employee, Aleksandra Kukla, who was hired at Irvington General Hospital in 1967 as a Food Service Worker, and transferred to Clara Maass in 2006 as a Dietary Assistant. Kukla, who was unable to attend the event, noted her appreciation to every colleague that helped to make her years at Clara Maass such a good experience.
The dinner program also included remarks from Robert Brautigan, MD, a general surgeon at Clara Maass Medical Center, who is also President of the hospital’s Medical Staff, and an invocation provided by Father Peter Iwuala of the hospital’s Pastoral Care Department.
