The Center for Latino Health at Clara Maass Medical Center provided health
information and screenings at the 24th Annual Three Kings Day Celebration
held on January 12th. Hosted by the Three Kings Day, Inc and the Honorable
Luis A. Quintana, Councilman at-Large, more than 1,000 children and their
families attended the event, which was held at the Essex County College
Gymnasium in Newark.
Many dignitaries attended the celebration including Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka, Newark Municipal Council Member-at-Large Luis Quintana, Newark Municipal Councilmember Anibal Ramos, Newark Municipal Council Member-at-Large Carlos Gonzalez and County Freeholder Robert Mercado. Dr. Luis Espina, who recently joined the CMMC Medical Staff in January also attended the celebration.
Three Kings Day is an important holiday for the Latino community in the United States, Spain, Latin America, and the Caribbean Islands and in Newark, the Three Kings celebration has become the largest and longest running event of its kind in the State of New Jersey.
