Tinton Falls, NJ – June 22, 2023 – Monmouth Medical Center and The Unterberg Children’s Hospital opened the program for its celebratory groundbreaking of the Vogel Medical Campus at Tinton Falls on June 20th with a moving performance by the Matawan Regional High School Vocal Music Academy.

A four-year sequential program for the serious vocal student, the academy offers a unique education stressing not only musical skills and a lifelong appreciation of music, but discipline, self-confidence and a sense of accomplishment by working toward a common goal of excellence. The Choral Group, led by Choir Director Andre Baldasserini, performed the dynamic piece “Give Us Hope” for the nearly 200 people assembled for the groundbreaking program.

“We understand that the arts are life enhancing and enriching, and are so thankful to the Matawan Regional High School Vocal Music Academy for joining in the celebration of our new campus,” said Eric Carney, President and CEO of Monmouth Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, RWJBarnabas Health facilities. “With their stirring performance, they delivered a powerful message of hope for a better world that struck a universal chord with an audience that came together to celebrate a facility that will advance health care in Monmouth County and the surrounding area.”

The Vogel Medical Campus is being built with patients and the community in mind. The serene park-like setting will feature expansive soothing environmental considerations such as water features and walking paths. The hospital has engaged in years of planning to reach this important milestone, working with local community members and partners to develop a new campus that will provide exceptional, patient-centered care close to home for more Monmouth County residents. The campus will offer seamless access to surgical and imaging services and comprehensive cancer care together with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The five-story, 150,000-square-foot outpatient center, located at the historic Fort Monmouth Myer Center site, is set to open in 2025 and will honor Fort Monmouth’s legacy of innovation. The campus will leverage the very latest advancements in medical space planning and technology to provide easy access for patients and their loved ones and an ideal space for physicians to deliver the highest caliber of care.

The new medical campus is designed to enhance the patient experience by providing comprehensive same-day surgery, on-site specialty physician offices and advanced diagnostic imaging. Multiple floors will be dedicated exclusively to state-of-the-art cancer services, offering a comprehensive oncology clinic and centers for state-of-the-art infusion and radiation therapy treatment. Like the campus environment itself, Monmouth Medical Center’s oncology services will honor the mind-body connection with a focus on both medical and psychosocial care at the time of diagnosis, during treatment through to survivorship.

Monmouth Medical Center is dedicated to providing timely updates with the community throughout this building process. For the latest information, please visit: www.rwjbh.org/vmc.
