Mark E. ManiganWest Orange, NJ, November, 2020 – President and Chief Executive Officer of RWJBarnabas Health Barry H. Ostrowsky has announced the promotion of Mark E. Manigan to Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer.

“Mark has distinguished himself on the strategy front since joining the system last year,” said Mr. Ostrowsky. His significant experience in corporate and regulatory matters, as well as his fluency in issues vital to the industry, will continue to expertly drive our system’s growth and progress.” Mr.Manigan reports directly to Mr. Ostrowsky.

Mr. Manigan will continue to lead RWJBarnabas Health’s business development function. In his expanded role, he will be responsible for the evolution of the system’s strategic plan. Further, in order to optimize integration and performance, Mr. Manigan’s oversight of RWJBarnabas Health’s ambulatory businesses will be enhanced to include a reorganization of these assets into an Ambulatory Services Division. Mr. Manigan is also charged with ensuring that key transactions and business activities remain inextricably linked to system strategy.

Mr. Manigan will also serve on a newly-formed Strategic Council, created to ensure that RWJBarnabas Health dedicates resources to the activities that are most critical to strategic advances.

Mr. Manigan joined RWJBarnabas Health as Executive Vice President, Business Development in 2019 from the Health Law Practice of Brach Eichler, a law firm based in Roseland, NJ. He advised a wide spectrum of health care clients providing representation to health care businesses on strategic planning, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, dissolutions and general corporate matters. Mr. Manigan has been consistently sought by public and private stakeholders for advice on health care policy issues and industry trends. He served on both Governor Phil Murphy’s and Governor Chris Christie’s Transition Teams. Mr. Manigan graduated from Bucknell University and Seton Hall University School of Law, and is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. He is a resident of Maplewood, New Jerey.
