AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill

AlterG TreadmillDefy the effects of gravity, enhance freedom of movement and redefine what’s possible in rehab and training.

The AlterG is an anti-gravity, air-based treadmill available at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Rehabilitation in Millburn. By reducing the effects of body weight during movement this state-of-the-art technology enables patients to progress through rehabilitation safely and effectively.

Benefits to using Anti-Gravity Treadmill technology include unprecedented therapy and training capabilities. This air-based method for reducing ground reaction helps patients recover from orthopedic surgery or injury and neurological conditions, as well as build strength and endurance with less risk of injury and pain

The treadmill lessens the force of gravity, reducing barriers to mobility for post-operative rehabilitation patients without worrying about damaging the surgical repair. It does so with a pressurized “anti-gravity” chamber that uses air pressure to gently adjust body weight from 100 percent to as little as 20 percent with unparalleled precision.

This new technology will empower patients to move pain free again and support motor learning in a fall-safe environment.

With locations in West Orange and Livingston, Cooperman Barnabas Rehabilitation offers adults and children the specialized care they need to resume an active life after surgery, injury or illness. You do not need a prescription for physical therapy services.
