Apr 22, 2020 Nothing Short of a Miracle: 100-Year-Old WWII Veteran Recovering from COVID-19 at RWJ University Hospital

A 100-year-old World War II Veteran with underlying health conditions was admitted to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in early April. He was successfully extubated and removed from the ventilator yesterday. His granddaughter, Arnell Barley is a loyal WPIX-Channel 11 News viewer who couldn’t wait to share the news. She said, “I’m going to call the news. I want to let them know that you guys are the first hospital to successfully recover a 100-year-old plus patient who had underlying conditions and came out like a champ.”
