Grace A Faces of Breast Cancer - Grace's Story

“There are a lot of things that we can do as patients that can help us feel better throughout the whole process. Learning to take care of yourself is a huge component of that.”

Grace Arlotta is a stay-at-home mom of two boys. At age 29, she started having issues with her right breast. Because of her dense breast tissue, and despite having no family history of breast cancer, Grace continued to get her annual mammogram. When one of her routine mammogram results came back as inconclusive, she kept thinking to herself, “One in eight, it’s my turn.”

Grace’s positive attitude and humor got her through her treatments. “There are a lot of things that we can do as patients that can help us feel better throughout the whole process. Learning to take care of yourself is a huge component of that,” she shares. Grace embraced the challenges she faced and turned them into opportunities.
