Lakewood, NJ – Thanks to a grant awarded by the Catholic Human Services Foundation (CHSF) of New Jersey, cancer and infusion patients can receive treatment in a more comfortable and ergonomic environment.
Catholic Human Services Foundation helps to enhance the quality of life to those in need and provided a grant to MMCSC’s Foundation to purchase two new state-of-the-art infusion therapy chairs for use in the Pine Belt Family Infusion Center at MMCSC.
“We are very grateful for the continued support of Catholic Human Services Foundation. These chairs ensure essential comfort and safety for our patients, while we provide high-quality care to our patients receiving chemotherapy and other infusion therapies, explains Dr. Victor Almeida, Chief Medical Officer, MMCSC. “Our patients could spend six to eight hours with us during a single treatment session and supportive seating is an essential component of quality cancer care.”
The new chairs feature heat and massage functions, pressure-point relief, enhanced posture, support, multiple reclining positions, footrests, side tables and more. They can also easily accommodate patients transferring from a wheelchair with convertible arms.
