Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) is New Jersey’s largest academic medical center in partnership with Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Located in New Brunswick, it is home to the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital (BMSCH), part of the RWJBarnabas Health network of Children’s Health, and the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, NJ’s only freestanding cancer hospital and NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with Rutgers Cancer Institute. Each year, more than 100,000 people visit RWJUH’s adult and pediatric emergency departments (EDs) where we offer the highest levels of emergency services in the state. As one of only three state-certified Level 1 Adult Trauma Centers and a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, we provide cutting edge clinical care, delivered in a compassionate family-centered facilities.

Unique in New Jersey, adult cancer patients who require emergency medical services are evaluated in the Emergency Department, stabilized and sent for further specialized care at the state’s only freestanding cancer hospital, the Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center. There they receive personalized advanced care from nationally recognized oncologists, specialty trained cancer nurses and ancillary care teams in state-of-the-art private rooms and facilities. Pediatric cancer patients have access to our robust team of pediatric hematologists/oncologists and are admitted to a private room at BMSCH if inpatient care is required.
