Pitch to Partner with Children’s Specialized Hospital

Do you have a mission-aligned innovation that’s ready to scale?

The Center for Discovery, Innovation, and Development (CDID) at Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH) invites established social enterprises to apply to our 2026 Pitch Competition for a chance to gain strategic investment, health expertise, and visibility in the rehabilitative innovation space.

  • Finalist Pitches: Late September to Early October 2026
  • Investment Decisions: November 2026

Who Should Apply?

We’re seeking mission-aligned social enterprises— for-profit or nonprofit—with:

  • A validated product, service, or model focused on rehabilitative health, well-being, or accessibility (solutions may serve all ages and abilities)

  • A scalable business or funding model

  • The ability to deliver measurable financial and social return

  • A need for investment, expert support, or market access

What You’ll Submit

1. Pitch Deck (PDF, max 20 slides)

Your deck should address the following:

  • Problem & Solution
    • What are you solving, and how? What makes your solution unique or timely?
  • Market Opportunity
    • Target audience, market size, and potential growth.
    • Include data or citations supporting your claims.
    • Indicate whether you currently operate online or are planning digital expansion.
  • Competitive Landscape
    • Who else is addressing this problem? What differentiates your solution?
  • Business & Revenue Model
    • How do you generate—or plan to generate—revenue?
    • Is your model scalable?
  • Traction & Validation
    • Customer base, user feedback, partnerships, pilots, or growth milestones.
  • Regulatory & FDA Status (if applicable)
    If your product or solution requires regulatory approval:
    • Do you currently have FDA approval?
    • If not, do you anticipate needing FDA approval?
    • If FDA approval is required, please describe where you are in the process (e.g., early research, pre-submission, clinical testing, submitted for review, etc.)
  • Team Composition
    • Key members, roles, relevant expertise.
  • Next Steps
    • What would you do first if selected by CDID?
  • Risk Assessment
    • Key risks and how you plan to mitigate them.
  • Financial Projections (1–3 Years)
    • Revenue, expenses, and expected break-even timeline.
  • Your Ask of CDID
    • Funding request (amount and use of funds) Non-financial support (e.g., expertise, focus groups) Expected return (financial and mission-aligned).

2. Pitch Video (5–8 minutes) – optional but strongly suggested

Your video may include:

  • Introduce to your organization and solution
  • Highlight from your application
  • Your funding ask and why this moment matters
  • Optional product demos, testimonials, or pilot footage

Investment Preferences

  • We prioritize organizations with operational history and real-world feedback.
  • We are seeking partners with the capacity to return our investment (and more) within 2–3 years, where applicable.
  • CDID is a single-member LLC, and all revenue is reinvested in the care of children and young adults at Children’s Specialized Hospital.
  • While funding requests of all sizes will be considered, most successful financial investments typically range between $50,000 and $100,000.

Please note: CDID is not obligated to make any investments or awards in connection with this 2026 Pitch Competition and may consider additional criteria beyond those listed above. CDID reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, request additional information, waive requirements, or eliminate candidates from further consideration. CDID retains discretion to determine which respondents are qualified and may amend this call or request more information at any time.
