Solution Provided:
- Environmental Adjustments: Reduced stimuli by turning off the Hoberman Sphere, disabling features in “Microbes Rule!,” dimming lights, and designating a Quiet Zone.
- Supportive Resources: Provided bean bags, weighted blankets, fidget toys, and noise-canceling headphones, with reduced background music.
- Engaging Activities: Included “Sensory Fossils,” “Pollinator Investigation,” and a Butterfly House with painted lady and monarch butterflies.
Results and Impact:
The event welcomed school groups from New Jersey and New York, earning praise for accommodations and empowering staff to better support guests with sensory sensitivities, fostering a more inclusive environment.
