DOT/CDL Physical

Are you in need of a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical to receive or renew your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)? Barnabas Health Corporate Care can help!

All commercial drivers whose current medical certificate expires on or after May 21, 2014, at expiration of that certificate must be examined by a medical professional listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME). Only medical examiners that have completed training and successfully passed a test on physical qualification standards will be listed on the National Registry (NRCME)

All Barnabas Health Corporate Care Clinics have clinicians that are certified and are listed on the DOT NRCME.

About the DOT Physical Exam

The Department of Transportation (DOT) requires all applicants to complete a comprehensive physical exam in order to qualify for and obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This exam ensures that you are healthy and physically fit enough to operate a commercial vehicle without risk of injury to yourself or others.

The examiner will review your health history and ask you to list the medications you take on a regular basis. During your DOT physical, the examiner will check your as well as performing a neurological exam and hernia check.
