X-Ray Services

Speak With Us Today

X-rays are one of the oldest forms of medical imaging and remain a trusted and versatile tool for medical professionals. Our medical centers offer modern, cutting-edge X-ray services conducted by qualified, highly-trained radiologists and technicians. These dedicated professionals ensure that our physicians have the information and insight needed to provide our patients world-class care.

X-rays can be used to:

  • Detect bone breaks
  • Find foreign objects in the body
  • Diagnose arthritis
  • Examine dislocated joints
  • Detect cancer (and tumors)
  • Find infections

Preparing for Your X-Ray

X-rays require little preparation from the patient and often conducted the same day they are ordered by our physicians. In some cases, a contrast agent will need to be injected or swallowed by the patient but, often, this is not necessary.

Patients will be asked to lie or stand still during their X-ray. X-ray equipment uses low doses of radiation to then create an image of inside a patient's body.

Most X-rays take just minutes to complete, but in some cases, it can take up to an hour. If you have been scheduled for an X-ray and have questions before your appointment, contact your center today.

Is There a Risk?

Some patients voice concerns over the radiation exposure necessary for taking X-rays. The amount of radiation used to produce X-rays, however, is not enough to cause adverse effects in adult patients (and most child patients). Any increased risk of cancer is minimal and patients should feel confident that their X-rays are only helping to better their health.

For children and pregnant women, however, the risk can be greater. Before your X-ray procedure, your doctor will discuss with you any possible risk factors or concerns.
