Trusted Women's Health Solutions

A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast administered to women to monitor breast health and, specifically, screen for breast cancer.

Mammogram technology has advanced over the years and has been instrumental in increased survival rates due to early detection. Our mammogram technology is not only a critical part of our radiology department but of our women's health centers, as well.

What to Expect

In a traditional mammogram, the breast is pressed between two flat surfaces. The x-ray is then administered, creating black and white images doctors can then assess for signs of breast cancer.

Our Women's Imaging Centers, we also use digital mammography, which creates more detailed images than traditional X-ray mammograms. Early detection is critical for many patients, and digital mammography is the latest mammography advancement contributing to more effective breast cancer treatment.

When Should I Have My Mammogram?

Like many other medical screenings, the need for a mammogram depends on the individual patient. Our doctors will assess your family history and risk factors in order to recommend when you should start regularly having mammograms.
