Community Safety Conversations

Residents within your community may have various types of disabilities, needs, and interests. These disabilities include mobility impairments (e.g. wheelchair, walker, or cane users), sensory (e.g., visual, hearing, communicative, tactile, environmental) impairments, and invisible disabilities (e.g., those who may have mental health disorders, learning disabilities, chronic illnesses, autism, dementia, intellectual or developmental disorders, etc.) A person may have one or multiple impairments and each may vary in severity. The impairments and challenges may be temporary or be lifelong. Community safety conversations are an important way to share safety information, plan for emergencies, and support public safety needs.
