These facilities are staffed by compassionate and knowledgeable pediatric hematologists/oncologists, oncology nurse practitioners, specialized pediatric oncology nurses, child life specialists and social workers who put an emphasis not just on improving the health of our patients but attending to the psychosocial care of them and their families. Our programs also specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders, such as thrombocytopenia, thalassemia and sickle cell anemia.

As New Jersey’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, Rutgers Cancer Institute together with RWJBarnabas Health provides access to the full spectrum of therapeutic procedures and advanced treatment options including precision medicine, clinical trials, immunotherapy, and cellular therapies, many of which are not available elsewhere. In addition, we are one of only two programs in the state to offer pediatric cellular therapy and autologenic blood and marrow transplantation and we have the only hospital-based proton therapy center in the state with expertise in treating pediatric patients.

Pediatric Cancer Clinical Trials
Expanding Hope to Pediatric Cancer Patients and Their Families

Because some pediatric cancers can be rare and so hard to treat, it’s always good to know that there could be other treatment options available. Our team of oncologists has access to clinical trials across the globe. This enables us to connect patients with exploratory treatments that they may otherwise not have known about.
