High-Risk Infant Follow Up Program

This program offers a team of professionals who provide developmental evaluation, follow-up, and referral for very small premature babies and infants determined to be at risk for developmental delay. The team of developmental experts includes neonatologists; pediatric physical, occupational, and speech therapists; dietician; developmental psychologist; and nurse coordinator. These professionals work in conjunction with other pediatric subspecialists and the primary care physician to provide the very best possible care for the high-risk infant. The nurse coordinator schedules a baby's first appointment prior to discharge.

  • I am also grateful to all the CBMC staff. I am grateful to the doctors who sat on my bed and let me cry because I was separated from my newborn baby. Thank you to the L&D nurses that asked how the baby was every time I came back to my hospital room.
