A Message from our Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer

As one of the state’s largest and most comprehensive health systems, RWJBarnabas Health is presented with a tremendous opportunity to improve the health of the diverse populations that we serve. Evidently, with all major opportunities exists major challenges for which we remain extremely excited. As you know, New Jersey is one of the most diverse states in the country. Thus, proper adaptation that will meet the needs of our communities is a business reality that we cannot ignore. In our attempt to become the provider and employer of choice across all regions of New Jersey, it remains imperative that we provide the highest-quality and culturally competent care to our diverse patients and communities.

To that point, it is with excitement that the Corporate Office of Diversity and Inclusion (CODI) at RWJBarnabas Health takes on this great challenge as we build through our collective efforts, Diversity and Inclusion strategies that ensure equitable patient centered care to our consumers while leveraging Diversity and Inclusion as a tool that will drive our workforce and establish our System as one of the best places to work in the country.

Our objective is to build a streamline process for Diversity and Inclusion that is innovative, best-in-class, and more importantly, consistent throughout the System. While the work deliverables at each site may differ due to the various needs and the diversity of the populations across the state, we want to ensure consistency, fluency, efficiency, and consistent measureable outcomes in our approach.

As previously stated, it remains our goal to provide culturally competent care to the diverse populations we serve. In alignment with our System’s Vision, we look forward to working in partnership with each hospital within our System to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and dignity.

On behalf of our office, I want to thank you for choosing RWJBarnabas Health as your provider, employer, or partner of choice.

Thank you for your partnership.

Best regards,
Trina Parks MHA, FACHE
