A Message from our Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer

As one of the state’s largest and most comprehensive health systems, RWJBarnabas Health is presented with a tremendous opportunity to improve the health of the diverse populations we serve. With New Jersey being one of the most diverse states in the country, proper adaptation that will meet the needs of our communities is a business reality that we cannot ignore. As we continue to nurture an inclusive environment to remain the provider and employer of choice across all regions of New Jersey, it is imperative that we continue to ensure the highest-quality and culturally sensitive care to our diverse patients and communities.

To that point, since 2016, the Corporate Office of Diversity and Inclusion (CODI) at RWJBarnabas Health has taken on the challenge – through our collective efforts – to further expand Diversity and Inclusion strategies that ensure equitable patient centered care and outcomes to our consumers while leveraging Diversity and Inclusion as a tool that will drive our workforce and establish our System as one of the best places to work in the country.

Our vision is to build a streamlined process for Diversity and Inclusion that is innovative, best-in-class, and more importantly, consistent throughout the System. While the work deliverables at each site may differ due to the various needs and the diversity of the populations across the state, we want to ensure consistency and efficiency in our overall approach.

It remains our goal to provide culturally sensitive care to the diverse populations we serve. In alignment with our System’s Vision, we look forward to working in partnership with each hospital to ensure that everyone is treated with respect and dignity.

On behalf of our office, I want to thank you for choosing RWJBarnabas Health as your provider, employer, or partner of choice.

Thank you for your partnership.

Best regards,
Trina Parks MHA, FACHE
Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer
Senior Vice President, RWJBarnabas Health
