First Annual Sports Medicine Symposium: Conditions of the Foot and Upper Leg

The First Annual Sports Medicine Symposium, titled Lower Extremity Injuries in the Competitive Athlete is sponsored by RWJBarnabas Health, Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center for Athletes and JAG-One Physical Therapy. This segment addresses some areas of the foot and how to treat specialized conditions of the foot including cuboid syndrome and turf toe. Dr. Ziva Petrin, PM&R and sports fellowship-trained physician addresses diagnostic criteria for turf toe and appropriate rehabilitative techniques for recovery, while Dr. Adam Redlich, sports medicine fellowship-trained family medicine /sports medicine physician reviews cuboid syndrome and proper techniques for wrapping the foot. In this segment, Dr. Charlie Gatt, sports medicine trained and board-certified in orthopedic surgery also discussed femoral stress fracture and uses radiology imaging to define diagnostic approaches to treatment.
