Mary McTigue, DNP, RNC, CENP
Chief Nursing Officer
Dr. Mary McTigue is currently the Vice President – Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer at Trinitas Regional Medical Center ǀ RWJBarnabas Health in Elizabeth, NJ. In her role as Chief Nursing Officer, she is a senior administrator responsible for the acute care and ambulatory care divisions, as well as case management, social work, performance improvement, infection control and the Trinitas School of Nursing. She is also Adjunct Faculty at Saint Elizabeth University in the graduate level nursing program.
A graduate of Drexel University with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, Dr. McTigue received her Nursing diploma from Elizabeth General Medical Center School of Nursing, an Associate in Science degree from Union College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kean University and a Master of Arts in Nursing Administration from New York University. She is nationally certified in Executive Nursing Leadership and Inpatient Obstetrics.
Dr. McTigue has voluntarily served at varied national levels in the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, a professional organization with a mission to improve the health of women and newborns. She is also an active member of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the Organization of Nurse Leaders of New Jersey. She serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Center for Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, located in Scotch Plains and Elizabeth; Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Partnership for Maternal Child Health of Northern New Jersey; and is an appointed member of the New Jersey Maternal Care Quality Collaborative.
Dr McTigue has been recognized for her leadership during the COVID pandemic with the Sisters of Charity’s Caritas Award; the Union County Shero recognition; a Red Carpet Essential Frontline Worker honoree by Family and Children’s Services of Elizabeth; and a Greater Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce’s Driving Force: Women in Leadership honoree.
