doctor and patientThe Children’s Heart Center at the Children's Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is the state's largest, most comprehensive, and only heart center offering a complete range of diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of children with heart problems, as well as expectant mothers whose fetus may have a heart problem.

Our program is able to treat a variety of heart conditions. These include but are not limited to:

Procedures Offered

Your child’s cardiologist will decide the specific procedure based on several factors, including the type of heart disease your child has and how severe it is; your child’s age, medical history and lifestyle; and results of tests performed during the initial evaluation. Some procedural options may include cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery options.

Cardiac Catheterization Options

These procedures can sometimes be diagnostic but mostly in the current era are therapeutic procedures to treat congenital heart disease. Our program has capability of providing all types of FDA approved transcatheter therapy for congenital heart disease in neonates, children, teenagers, and adults. These procedures include:
