How to Become an Teen Volunteer

Volunteers apply their individual expertise and interests in many ways. Our numerous programs fit nicely with many work and school schedules. Volunteers may work directly with patients or in non-patient areas.

Teen Volunteer Service Requirements

  • Age: 15 to 18 years of age
  • Attendance at a Junior Volunteer Information Session: Students must attend the Information Session with a parent or legal guardian – call us at 973-322-5592 to register
  • Completed Application
  • Reference Form: to be completed by H.S. guidance counselor
  • Working Papers
  • Medical Form: to be completed by physician
  • Annual TB Testing
  • Attendance at Orientation Program
  • Time Commitment: A volunteer commitment of at least 50 hours annually is required
  • Dress Code: SBMC Polo shirt purchased by volunteer and ID name badge provided by the Medical Center.
