Registration and Admission Information

Prior to your delivery or during your visit, the Patient Financial Services Department is available to answer questions regarding your health insurance coverage or help those who require financial assistance. Staff members are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at 973-322-5854.

Patients will receive instructions on how to register in MyChart from their doctor’s office.

All patients must bring a valid photo ID for both parents, your insurance card and a list of current medications (as and any other necessary paperwork from the doctor’s office).

While at Cooperman Barnabas, a financial counselor may visit your room during your stay to review the following:

  1. Your benefits and coverage, including review your copay, coinsurance and deductible if applicable.
  2. Answer questions and provide guidance on adding your newborn to your insurance company.
    a. Please note with many insurance companies you only have the first 30 days after birth to add your newborn.
    b. Your employer and/or insurance company may require additional documentation that must be provided within the first 30 days.
    c. We encourage our parents to start this process as soon as you are able to.
  3. If needed and applicable, we can assist you in applying for Medicaid for you and your newborn.

We offer financial assistance for anyone interested in paying out of pocket.
