Support Groups and Exercise Programs for Patients with Parkinsons DiseaseSaint Barnabas Medical Center in conjunction with The Leon and Toby Cooperman JCC in West Orange offers Feeling Stronger - Feeling Better, an innovative program designed for individuals with Parkinson's and other neuromuscular/movement disorders. These programs are held throughout the month. Participants can enroll in the complete series or select individual classes. Registration is required by calling (973) 322-8195.

  • Tai Chi Chih — an easy-to-learn set of movements completely focused on the development of an intrinsic energy called Chi. The class is free for JCC members and cost $5 each for non-members. Held Each Monday at 1:30 pm
  • Strength Training — proven method for improvement of slowness, tremor, and rigidity.
  • Parkinson's Support Group — talk, share and learn from each other.
  • Parkinson's Caregiver Support Group — This support group is focused on issues affecting spouse or family caregiver.
  • Sing for Your Health — This class is offered the first Saturday of every month.

Support Groups and the classes listed above for Parkinson’s Disease patients and their families are offered at the JCC MetroWest, 760 Northfield Ave, in West Orange.
