Awards and Recognition

As a Magnet Designated organization since 2018, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (CBMC) (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) embodies the Magnet Model of transformational leadership, structural empowerment, exemplary professional practices, and new knowledge and innovations as nurses continue to improve patient outcomes and enhance the lives of the community they serve. CBMC places high value on evidence based practice and consistently works to embed best current evidence in all aspects of care.

There are multiple ways CBMC rewards and recognizes nurses.

Examples of recognition include:

  • Recognizing You! Rewards Program – this is a recognition program to remind us all that we do amazing work and we are amazing employees. You are noticed and should be shown appreciation when you provide compassionate care, health care excellence and superior service.
  • Thank you notes (given in person or mailed home)
  • Daisy Awards (honorees, team, and nurse leader)

Daisy Awards are presented monthly to two nurses–selected by a peer review committee. Winners are highlighted in the quarterly Chief Nursing Officer’s Town Halls and on the CBMC employee intranet.
