Healing Homes, a program of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset, provides transitional housing for individuals and families who are faced with hard times due to medical issues. Sixty-six and a half percent of all bankruptcies were tied to medical issues —either because of high costs for care or time out of work. Providing safe and affordable housing meets an immediate need for families, and offers long term positive health, social, and educational outcomes.
