RWJUH Hamilton Offers Post-COVID-19 Recovery Program

Whether you’re an endurance athlete with a sport injury or an aging senior with pain or impaired balance, physical therapy can help. Licensed by the State of New Jersey, RWJBarnabas Health physical therapists are trained and certified in a variety of specialties, giving patients access to the most advanced and comprehensive treatments available.

The goal of the RWJBarnabas Health physical therapy program is to strengthen the body and improve balance, coordination, movement and function.

Each physical therapy patient undergoes a comprehensive evaluation and a unique plan of care is established. The goal is to return the patient to their maximum functional level and regain lost independence or performance to reach their optimal quality of life.

Treatments We Provide

Treatments available include:

• Pre- and post-surgical strengthening through therapeutic exercise and functional activities
• Aquatic therapy
• Manual techniques to help regain lost range of motion
• Massage and other myofascial release
• Instrument-assisted soft tissue massage
• Fall prevention and gait training with the use of assistive devices
• Balance training
• Endurance training through cardiovascular conditioning
• Modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, phonopheresis, biofeedback
• Ergonomics assessments, physical performance testing and correct body mechanics education
• Patient & Family education and individualized Home exercise or gym programs

Some other physical therapy specialties include:

• Orthopedic and sports medicine injuries
• Head and spinal cord injuries
• Pediatric disorders such as cerebral palsy and developmental disabilities (ages: birth to 21 years)
• Lymphedema
• Vestibular therapy
• Cancer rehab
• Pain syndromes (chronic and acute)
• Concussion treatment
• Pelvic pain and dysfunction, including urinary incontinence and women’s health issues
• Neurological conditions such as stroke, MS, Parkinson’s disease. We are also one of very few facilities offering Lee Silverman Voice Technique (LSVT) for Parkinson’s disease (BIG & LOUD).
