About Us

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Hamilton joined RWJ Barnabas Health’s Southern Region Chinese Medical Program in March 2018. The program aims to enhance access to effective, cost-efficient, high-quality health care for Chinese Americans in the area served by RWJUH Hamilton.

Kathy Jahnsen is the Chinese Medical Program Patient Navigator at RWJUH Hamilton. As an immigrant from Hong Kong, Kathy understands the challenges that many Chinese Americans face in the US healthcare system. Fluent in the Chinese languages of Mandarin and Cantonese, Kathy helps Chinese patients to navigate the system so that they receive the safe, high-quality care they deserve. She helps patients to find doctors, make medical appointments, arrange transportation and fill out medical forms. She also accompanies patients to their appointments to provide interpretation services, when needed.
