Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship

Welcome

The Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship is a three-year program designed to train future pulmonologists and intensivists.

The fellowship provides a broad-based clinical experience in the practice of pulmonary and critical care medicine including diagnosis, disease management and prevention, application of evidence-based methods of decision-making and a compassionate approach to patient care.

The program offers a wide range of clinical experience. Fellows gain knowledge and skills in a scope of pathology presented by a diverse patient population. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is a regional referral center for pulmonary and critical care and offers a full complement of treatment modalities, including lung transplant.

The program is designed in concert with the recommendations and requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Upon successful completion of the program, fellows are expected to be eligible and appropriately trained for subspecialty boards in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.

Number of fellows accepted each year: 3
