Go Green - Staying Green This Holiday Season

With Thanksgiving past, the holidays are again in full-swing, and the busiest time of the year for recycling is upon us. With the increase in shopping, spending, wrapping and gift-giving comes a significant increase in trash and recyclable waste. Recent studies show that between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, household garbage in the United States typically increases by more than 25 percent – equaling nearly one million additional tons per week. Celebrating the holidays, or even a birthday, doesn’t need to damage Mother Earth – simply reusing gift bags is a start. How will you make your gifts greener this year?
