APP Fellowship Curriculum
All Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellows will follow a strict curriculum consisting of didactics, rotations, simulations and evaluations.
Didactics
All APP fellows will attend weekly critical care conferences. Throughout the year, APP fellows will participate in monthly didactic lectures provided by sub-specialty experts. Each session will include case study presentations and discussions, diagnostic interpretation (e.g. image review) as well as high-fidelity simulation. Additional didactic sessions include Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS), Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS), and Critical Care Ultrasonography (CCUS).
Rotations
All participants will have access to textbooks and other learning resources for all rotations. Each rotation will have its own goals and objectives, quizzes, and will conclude with an evaluation.
Rotations include:
- Medical ICU
- Surgical/Trauma ICU
- Neuro ICU
- Cardiothoracic ICU
- Neurosurgery
- House
- Infectious Disease
- Renal
- Cardiology
- Palliative Care
- Elective
Simulation
Each APP Fellow will need to complete simulation training. All simulations will be conducted in the SIM lab. Times will vary based on type of simulation.
Evaluations
Each quarter, Program Directors will meet with the APP Fellow to discuss rotation evaluations, clinical progress and career planning.
