About the Critical Care Fellowship

The Critical Care Fellowship is a paid, 12-month postgraduate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) program. It incorporates a rigorous, structured training schedule and support as our fellows make the transition from student to provider.

The program is open to highly qualified, board certified Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs). We are now accepting three APP fellows each year.

Rotations vary from 2 to 4 weeks. Didactics include monthly lectures with sub-specialty experts and weekly critical care conferences throughout the year. Each rotation will have its own goals and objectives, and will be followed by an evaluation. Learning resources will be provided.

Our APP Fellowship strives to:

  • Enhance collaboration and navigation of a multi-disciplinary organization
  • Equip participants with tools to help meet the needs of complex, acute and critically ill patients
  • Encourage open communication
  • Foster mentoring and personal growth
  • Provide training in all central lines, bedside critical care ultrasound instruction and other bedside procedures

APP participants who graduate the program achieve the level of confidence and skills needed to succeed in highly competitive specialties.
