Family Medicine Residency Program
Q. How will interviews be conducted for the 2023-2024 application year?
A. All interviews will be conducted virtually using the Thalamus scheduling and video platform.
If you are new to Thalamus, you will need to sign up for an account; instruction below.
Q. When will invitations to interview be issued?
A. RWJ Somerset will begin sending out invitations to interview on a rolling basis beginning after October 15, 2023
Q. How will RWJ Somerset communicate with me?
A. All communication will be via email generated from Thalamus, so it is important for you to add Thalamus to your contact list.
Q. How are interviews scheduled?
A. Thalamus allows you to schedule, change and waitlist interviews based on the dates made available by the program. Interviews will be scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Friday mornings October through January 2024
Q. What is the deadline to apply?
A. December 31, 2023
Q. What will my interview day look like?
A. The interview day is structured with an introductory session at the start of the day, followed by four 20-minute individual interviews. Interviews start after 9:00 AM and usually wrap up at about 11:30 AM. You will be able to see the details of your interview day in Thalamus once it is scheduled.
Q. When can I meet with residents?
A. There will be an opportunity for you to meet virtually with a group of residents separate from the interview day. The schedules for these group meetings will be announced soon, and will also be scheduled through Thalamus.
