Pharmacy Residency Program


Graduates of the program will develop and strengthen the following:

  • Leadership and practice management
  • Time management and project coordination
  • Evidence-based, patient-centered medication management with interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide education to healthcare professionals and the public
  • Perform pharmacy practice research that will be presented at ASHP’s Midyear Meeting and the Eastern States Residency Conference
  • Ability to precept and teach pharmacy students


  • Core: Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Infectious Disease, Medication Safety & Administration
  • Longitudinal: Pharmacy Practice, Project Management, Community Outreach
  • Elective: Emergency Medicine, Renal Transplant, Psychiatry, Drug Information, Poison Control, Ambulatory Care/Anticoagulation, Pharmacy Billing/Purchasing

Unique Opportunities

  • Clinical Collaborative Network: Integrates all clinical pharmacists and residents from the system’s seven hospitals. Network meets every other month to discuss clinical research and pharmacy practice initiatives
  • Teaching and Learning Certificate Program: Offered by the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, this program will strengthen the resident’s knowledge and skills in presenting lectures and precepting students.
