Bio: Dr. Rossy is a board certified Orthopaedic Sports Medicine specialist who has been with Princeton Orthopaedics since 2016 after completing a sports medicine fellowship at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital. Since joining the team at POA, he has been treating patients and athletes with shoulder, hip and knee injuries. He has a special interest with advanced specialty training in ligamentous and cartilage injuries of the knee and utilizes the most advanced techniques to return athletes, of all levels, back to sport.

Overview of talk:

• ACL injuries are some of the most common injuries sustained by young athletes playing pivoting sports. Prompt diagnosis of ACL tears and common associated injuries can lead to early intervention and decreased risk of further damage to the knee. Management of these athletes in the athletic training room, both pre-operatively and post-operatively, can expedite an athletes return to sport and improve overall function.

Objectives:

1) Better understand the mechanism of injury involved in an ACL tear

2) Identify other potential concomitant injuries

3) Review surgical indications and techniques

4) Post-operative rehab involved in returning and athlete back to sport
