Transgender Lives & Health Barriers - Monmouth Medical Center

Join us for Trans, a documentary that describes the lives of six transgender individuals and the challenges that they face in becoming their authentic selves. Following the film, a panel discussion will address the barriers to healthcare and some of the healthcare needs of transgender people.

Objectives:

  • Recognize barriers in healthcare access and delivery to transgender individuals
  • Identify health insurance coverage disparities in the transgender community
  • Name key methods of creating more culturally competent care for transgender individuals
