RWJ Hamilton’s Department of Pastoral Care & Training continues its series of educational programs for religious leaders in our community. Our upcoming program focuses on the opportunities for pastoral support of families navigating the organ / tissue donation journey.

Our discussion will be led by Jacqueline Salvatore, LSW MSW, Family Services Coordinator for the NJ Sharing Network. She is tasked with accompanying grieving families at their most vulnerable time as they faced the loss of a loved one. Jackie will share her experience of journeying through the crises and opportunities these families face, explaining how the process of organ or tissue donation affects the lives of donor families. She will be joined by Ted
Taylor, Director of Pastoral Care & Training, who has his own family story of tissue donation.

The presentation will engage the following issues:

  • Identifying situations where organ or tissue donation may be an option.
  • Understanding the process that families encounter when faced with organ or tissue donation.
  • Gaining insight into the resources available from the NJ Sharing Network as they partner with community faith leaders in supporting families navigating the donation journey.

A certificate of attendance for 2 contact hours will be given to all who attend.
