The FCCS curriculum introduces important principles for the initial care of critically ill/injured patients and is intended for physicians, physicians-in-training, nurses and other healthcare providers who may or may not be skilled in critical care and early stabilization.

The FCCS curriculum is presented as a two-day comprehensive series of integrated lectures and skill stations. The course provides critical care knowledge, guidance for decision-making and practice in clinical procedures by addressing fundamental management of critical care patients in the first 24 hours.

The FCCS course was prepared under the direction of the Society of Critical Care Medicine by leading critical care educators in
