PALS Instructor Course - Jersey City Medical Center
Step 1. Core Instructor Course:
It provides a foundation for teaching and facilitating AHA courses, regardless
of an instructor candidate’s area of specialization. For flexibility,
the course can be delivered, 1)
online (CEU credit available, or 2) on a CD
for self-directing learning. Upon completion of the course print the certificate and bring it to the
PALS Discipline Specific course (Step 2).
Step 2. PALS Discipline Specific
Prerequisites: Have completed the Core Instructor Course.
Have successfully completed an PALS class with a grade of 90% or greater
Copy of your current BLS/CPR and PALS cards
It teaches the student to use lesson maps and the team concept approach,
along with AHA and Training Center policies and procedures, as well as,
the mastery of Pediatric Advanced Life Support algorithms techniques
At the end of the PALS Instructor Course, instructor candidates will be
able to teach a PALS course after being successfully monitored and teaching
an initial class.

Cost: $150.00 for Jersey City Medical Center Employees (for books and CDs)
$350.00 for all other Health Care providers (books and CDs are included)
