Who Lacks Reciprocity? Challenging Precarious Assumptions about Autistic People (Presented by NJACE)

"Deficits in social-emotional reciprocity” are supposedly a hallmark of autism. However, for fifteen years, I have challenged this precarious assumption. In this presentation, I will briefly review my autism-related research to demonstrate that it is often non-autistic people (e.g., researchers, clinicians, teachers, and parents), rather than autistic people, who demonstrate a lack of reciprocity.
