Work-Out Your Way to Better Blood Sugars at Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center

May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. One of the key elements to living well with diabetes is having an exercise plan that you are doing regularly. Exercise benefits persons with diabetes by lowering their blood sugars and improving their body's resistance to insulin. Exercise also reduces stress and improves strength and flexibility. At this support group an exercise physiologist from The Health and Wellness Center at Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center will discuss the benefits of exercise for diabetes. Safety considerations will be discussed as well as looking at measurements of success such as weight circumference, body fat and working up to your maximum heart rate when you exercise.
