    A board-certified, fellowship-trained head and neck surgical oncologist and microvascular reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Imanguli received his doctor of stomatology (DDS) degree from Azerbaijan Medical University and his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He received internship training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, and residency training in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas. He completed fellowship training in head and neck oncologic and microvascular surgery at the University of Alabama Medical  Center, Birmingham. In addition, Dr. Imanguli completed research fellowships at the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute, as well as its National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research.

    Dr. Imanguli joined the Department of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery in 2018 as Assistant Professor and Chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology. He previously served as an instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Alabama Medical Center. He has published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as books and abstracts.

    Dr. Imanguli is fluent in English and Russian and also speaks Azerbaijani Turkish, Spanish and French.
