Clinical Nurse Navigator

Brittany Montalbano has been an oncology nurse for over 7 years. She has worked in inpatient oncology, both educating, and caring for oncology patients during and post treatment. She understands that high quality care includes incorporating families into the patient’s plan of care.Clinical Nurse Navigator

As a clinical nurse navigator, she feels she is the main advocate for the patients and their families. By bridging the communication gap, she is a link between the patient and the oncology team providers. Brittany understands how overwhelming a cancer diagnosis can be. Her goal is to incorporate a holistic approach while helping patients and their families emotionally, spiritually, and physically during their cancer journey.

She has also worked as the Breast Center Nurse in the Jaqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center, assisting in breast biopsies, and educating patients on breast health topics such as preventative care and continued surveillance. While involved with the high risk cancer assessment program, Brittany identified high risk patients and educated them regarding their follow up. She also has experience as a breast center navigator, guiding and empowering breast cancer patients during and after their treatments.
